Product image preparation

When working with planograms, improperly prepared images can lead to incorrect product display.

A properly prepared image ensures accurate product placement on the shelf and correct visualization in both 2D and 3D views.

Basic image requirements

The product image should:

  • Be clear and not blurry;
  • Match the actual appearance of the product;
  • Not contain unnecessary elements;
  • Be correctly cropped to the product outline.

How to properly edit an image

Open the image in any editor (for example, Photoshop or an online service):

  1. Open the image in Photoshop;
  2. Unlock the layer;

To do this, click the "Lock" icon in the Layers panel — after that, the layer will become available for editing:

  1. Remove the image background;

Select the "Object Selection" tool, select the background, and press "Delete" or "Backspace" to remove it:

  1. Crop the image;

Select the product and use the "Crop" tool. Confirm cropping by pressing "Enter":

  1. Export the image;

In the top menu, go to: File → Export → Export As…

Note! Hotkeys: Alt + Shift + Ctrl + W (Windows) / Option + Shift + Command + W (Mac).

  1. Save in PNG format;

In the export window, select PNG format. Make sure the "Transparency" option is enabled to keep a transparent background, then click "Export".
