Visitor traffic

The ‘Visitor traffic’ report helps to visualise the movement of customers in the sales area of a store using a heat map. This map is created based on the analysis of receipts that meet the specified parameters.

What is a heat map?

The heat map shows the popularity of different areas of the store using a color scale:
Red and yellow - areas with the highest concentration of customers.
Green and blue - areas with the lowest flow of people.

How does the report work?

The ‘Visitor traffic’ report generates a heat map of customer traffic on the store's sales floor. The heat map is built on the basis of the receipts included in the sample. To customise the selection, you need to use filters that allow you to select the period, time and category of products.

Note! When creating a heat map, the shortest path that a customer can take through the sales area to collect all the products from their receipt is taken into account.

Important! To use the ‘Customer Flow’ report, you need to set the entrance and exit on the store plan and link the cash register to the store plan.

You need the report to:
Understand the popularity of zones in different periods.
Identify additional products that were bought along with the selected category.

Example:
If you have selected the category ‘Sweet drinks’, the report takes into account all receipts that contain products from this category.
You will see it on the heatmap:
1. The movement of visitors to products from this category.
2. Related zones, for example, to products from the ‘Snacks’ category, if they appeared in the same receipts.
