Out-of-stock analysis

The report "Out-of-stock analysis" helps identify product gaps on shelves and addresses them promptly. This improves sales and optimizes inventory management. The analysis tool enhances operational efficiency by minimizing losses caused by product shortages.

To open the report, go to the “Reports” > “Analytics” section and use the top switch on the Chain sales analysis > Out-of-stock analysis.

What is the structure of the report?

Bar Chart

The bar chart in the "Out-of-stock analysis" report simplifies the process of analyzing large amounts of data. The X-axis represents the dimension selected for the report, while the Y-axis shows the indicator set in the visualization settings.

To configure the visualization, click the "Actions" tool (vertical ellipsis) at the top of the bar chart and choose the desired action:
Metric – to change the displayed metric in the chart (e.g., number of product gaps, missed turnover, missed profit, missed sales, missed receipts);
Display – to select the type of column display (largest values, smallest values);
Settings – to set a default metric, configure the number of displayed items, and customize the visualization;
Save as PNG – to download the visualization as a .png image.

Pivot Table

The pivot table allows viewing data for the selected dimension to conduct accurate network analysis. To analyze data by Suppliers, Brands, Categories, Category Managers, Store Plans, Planograms, or Products, use the switch on the top panel.

To sort column values in the table, click the desired column header:
First click – sorts in ascending order;
Second click – sorts in descending order;
Third click – cancels sorting for that column.

To adjust the columns' visibility or save the current table view template as default, use the appropriate tools on the panel above the table.

Filters

To apply filters, click the Filters tool on the top panel of the page and choose:

Note! The report includes planograms where the last version was completed within 90 days from the current date.

Planogram status – the status of the planogram version based on the completed action: To be Checked, Confirmed;
Categories;
Brands;
Suppliers;
Store Formats;
Store Groups;
Stores;
Product Status.

To download the report in .xls format, click on the top panel of the report page:

The downloaded file will contain two sheets: Histogram (a .png image of the bar chart) and Table (pivot table data).

Important! The table in the downloaded file displays with collapsed levels. Only those levels expanded before downloading can be expanded later.

Which Planograms are Included in the Analysis?

The "Out-of-stock analysis" report includes planograms that meet three key conditions:

Completed or confirmed planograms;
Zero or negative product stock – if at least one product in the planogram has zero or negative stock, it is added to the analysis;
Analysis for the last 90 days – only planograms completed or confirmed within the last 90 days are analyzed. If the product has been missing for over 90 days, such planograms are excluded from the report.

Note! For calculating average indicators (profit, turnover, number of receipts, and sales), data is considered for 90 days before the product stock reached zero.

When analyzing, consider the following:
Additional and main planograms – the type of planogram does not affect its inclusion in the report, as both primary and additional planograms are counted;
Product absence period – the report tracks the number of days with zero stock starting from the date of planogram execution with this product. Once the product reappears in the planogram, it is no longer counted in the report;
Negative stock – sometimes, a product may have negative stock (e.g., due to accounting errors or premature sales). Such cases are also included in the report.
